9/11 Anniversary Resources
The events of September 11, 2001 started a nationwide conversation about grief. As our nation remembers the events of September 11, 2001, we hope that parents, teachers, community groups, youth leaders, mentors, administrators and anyone who works with and cares for children and teens will take this opportunity to educate themselves about the needs of children and teens who are grieving the loss of someone close to them.
Here are some resources provided by the Mourning Hope Grief Center and the National Alliance for Grieving Children:

Sesame Street:
Nebraska Public Television recently aired a program generating national awareness about grieving families. The program, hosted by Katie Couric, interviewed four grieving families - exploring concerns and obstacles faced by families after experiencing the death of a loved one. As part of this initiative, Mourning Hope has received 300 resource kits. Available in both English and Spanish, these kits each contain a DVD, informational packet on how to support grieving children and a children's book. If you would like one of these free resource kits, please contact us. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
