Holding Hope: Extended Support for Returning Families
At Mourning Hope, we understand that grief does not end after ten weeks. Families often build meaningful connections during our Family Grief Series, and many find that continued support helps them feel less alone as they navigate life after a death loss.
Holding Hope is a new program for returning families who have already completed Mourning Hope’s 6-week or 10-week Family Grief Support Group Series. Completion of a multi-week series is a prerequisite for participation, ensuring that all families enter Holding Hope with a shared foundation of knowledge, experiences and language around grief.
This once-a-month program is open to families with youth ages 4 through 18 who have experienced the death of someone significant. A brief registration is required each month so we can thoughtfully prepare food, volunteers and activities. Children and teens gather with peers their own age for meaningful discussions and creative projects that allow them to express their feelings and build resilience. At the same time, caregivers meet in a separate group with other adults, where they receive both grief support and practical guidance on caring for a grieving child.
Whether your family is seeking a space to reconnect with peers who understand, or simply needs a gentle reminder that you are not walking this journey alone, Holding Hope offers a safe, compassionate place to share, remember and heal together. Because at Mourning Hope, no one has to grieve alone.
