  • Art From Our Heart | Saturday, June 14, 2025 | 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Thank you to those who attended June's "Art From Our Heart" session!

  • Art From Our Heart is an opportunity for children and teens who have experienced the death of someone significant to express their thoughts and emotions through art.

For our July session, youth ages 4–18 will work with a local caricature artist to create a unique portrait that blends fun and reflection. Each participant will receive a personalized caricature drawing, which they can enhance with their own artistic touches. As they reflect on their grief journey, participants may choose to explore how their loss has shaped their self-identity or illustrate meaningful memories with their person in thought bubbles above their caricature.

This unique activity encourages participants to express themselves in a safe and supportive space while honoring their grief in a personal and meaningful way.

There is no cost to attend this event, but registration is required.

This program was funded in part by the Pace Woods Foundation: www.pacewoodsfoundation.org

  • A one-day grief support program offered entirely in Spanish, designed specifically for Spanish-speaking families to connect, reflect, and heal together.

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is a time when those who have lost someone to suicide can join together to find connection, understanding and hope through their shared experiences. Each year, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention supports hundreds of Survivor Day events at host locations worldwide. Once again, Mourning Hope is honored to serve as one of those host sites. Join us this Survivor Day for in-person programming and breakfast at the Mourning Hope house.

Registration will open closer to the event date. Note: This event is for adults ages 18 and older.

  • Holiday Hope | Saturday, December 6, 2025 | 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Grief is difficult to process at any time of the year, but the holidays pose new challenges and reminders of loss after the death of someone significant. At Holiday Hope, children and their families are given space to grieve as they learn how to honor the person who died during their religious, spiritual, friend and family holiday traditions. Youth will participate in creating memorial art to honor their person, helping express their grief and foster emotional healing.

Concurrent support groups for caretakers will explore strategies for navigating the holidays while grief is present. By remembering those who have died during this holiday season, we can hold on to important traditions and find peace and solace through new or modified traditions.

Holiday Hope is free to attend, but registration is required. Snacks and supplies will be provided. This program is not recommended for children under 4 years of age.

Registration will open closer to the event date.

Check back soon for additional special events.
