Spirit of Giving is a no-cost holiday shopping event for children who have experienced the death of a primary caregiver. During this event, kids can select and wrap a gift for their surviving caregiver and participate in a craft project.
While the kids are shopping and participating in activities, caregivers will be offered 10 minute massages, guided meditation and helpful information on self-care during the holiday season. This also allows caregivers to connect with others who are going through similar experiences.
A meal will be included as part of the evening.
This event is free of charge, thanks to the generosity of First-Plymouth Church who is partnering with Mourning Hope to make this initiative possible.
Families are required to register in advance, to ensure an adequate number of gifts, craft projects and food. Registration is open! Just click the event title above to sign up.
Please note: Spirit of Giving is suitable for school-aged children through teens who have attended a support group at Mourning Hope.

The holiday season can be especially tough after the loss of someone special. Holiday Hope offers kids and their families a comforting, supportive space to come together, reflect, and find new ways to honor their loved ones during the holidays.
In partnership with the Lincoln Arts Council and local artist Kinzee Hillis, this special event invites children to create meaningful memorial art inspired by their memories. Through hands-on, expressive projects, kids can share their stories, process their feelings, and connect with others who understand.
While youth participate in the art experience, caregivers will join a supportive group focused on navigating the holidays while grieving. Together, families can explore ways to keep meaningful traditions alive and discover new ones that bring comfort and connection.
Holiday Hope is free to attend, but registration is required. Snacks and supplies will be provided. This program is not recommended for children under 4 years of age.
Registration is open! Just click the event title above to sign up.
